From 21 September to 21 January Palazzo Strozzi hosts the Cinquecento in Florence, an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the art of the second sixteenth century in Florence; the period in which the Villa that hosts the Torre dei Lari was already a wonderful noble residence. The exhibition includes over seventy paintings and sculptures, an expression of the cultural temperament of that time. Along the halls of Palazzo Strozzi, they will be able to converse, in a chronological and thematic course at the same time, sacred and profane works of the great masters of the century such as Michelangelo, Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, but also painters such as Giorgio Vasari, Jacopo Zucchi, Giovanni Stradano, Girolamo Macchietti, Mirabello Cavalieri and Santi di Tito and sculptors like Giambologna, Bartolomeo Ammannati and Vincenzo Danti, only to name some of those who were involved in the firms of the Studiolo, the Tribune and the decoration of the Florentine churches according to the conciliar directions. Artists able to play on more expressive media by mediating their training on the great master of the beginning of the century, with the instances of a world that faced a complex change towards the age of Galileo Galilei, open to a new vision of the nature of both the artistic expression of European breath.

Palazzo Strozzi is an unique venue, which brings together the masterpieces of the 16 th century in Florence for the first time, from Michelangelo, Andrea del Sarto, Rosso Fiorentino, Bronzino, Giorgio Vasari, Santi di Tito, up to Giambologna, both Italian and international, many of which have been restored for the occasion. Until 21 January Palazzo Strozzi will host Il Cinquecento a Firenze , an extraordinary exhibition dedicated to the art of the second half of the 16 th century in Florence, the last act of a trilogy of exhibitions at Palazzo Strozzi, which started with Bronzino in and Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino in The exhibition celebrates an exceptional cultural and intellectual era, in a close juxtaposition between Modernism and the Counter Reformist period, and between sacred and profane ideas. The exhibition includes over 70 paintings and sculptures, for a total of 41 artists, an expression of the cultural feeling of the time. Along the halls of Palazzo Strozzi the pieces are displayed in chronological and thematic order, with sacred and secular works by the great masters, including Michelangelo, Pontormo and Rosso Fiorentino, but also painters such as Giorgio Vasari, Jacopo Zucchi, Giovanni Stradano, Girolamo Macchietti, Mirabello Cavalieri and Santi di Tito and sculptors like Giambologna, Bartolomeo Ammannati and Vincenzo Danti. All these artists were able to deliver through multiple expressive registers, drawing inspiration from religious topics as much as common passions — mediating their art with instances of a changing world that would gradually shift towards the age of Galileo Galilei and a new vision of nature and artistic expression.

Ogni anno il Piano Nobile ospita due grandi mostre dedicate a tematiche o ad artisti di primo piano, spaziando dal Rinascimento all'epoca moderna, mentre la Strozzina accoglie progetti espositivi tematici che indagano aspetti diversi dell'arte e della cultura contemporanee. Bradburne , sostituito nel marzo dall'italiano Arturo Galansino. Ogni mostra prevede un programma di eventi collaterali indirizzati particolarmente ai i giovani, alle famiglie e ai bambini.
