Race for the Cure - the famous event that aims to raise awareness and funds in support of the fight against breast cancer, is back in Bologna at Giardini Margherita, from 22 to 24 September. During the three-day event, Giardini Margherita proposes many initiatives involving families: prevention demo, educational workshops and sports. Besides, a well-equipped play area for children is also available. The final event is on Sunday morning with the traditional footrace of 5 kilometres 3. The fee includes the t-shirt of the event, the racing bib and the bag subject to availability. Men, women and children can enroll at the Race for the Cure and there is the category "Women in Pink" reserved for women who have faced or are facing breast cancer Race for the Cure is organized by Susan G. Komen Italia under the patronage of the Italian Republic President.
There's a new breed of breast cancer fighter joining the ranks of Portland's Race for the Cure participants this year. Dogs will walk and run alongside their human companions for the first time in the big annual fundraiser for the Susan G. Komen breast cancer organization when it hits Portland's waterfront Sunday, Sept. Ann Berryman, development and communications director for Komen's Oregon and Southwest Washington chapter, said that survivors left at home when spouses and kids are off at work and school often report their dogs being a big part of their support system. A dog's companionship can be integral to maintaining a positive outlook through an extremely difficult process, Berryman said.
But, when you participate and fundraise for the Race, we fight these statistics together. In , the 5-year relative survival rate for women diagnosed with early stage breast cancer cancer confined to the breast was about 74 percent. Today, that number is 99 percent! Komen has played a critical role in every major advance in the fight against breast cancer — transforming how the world talks about and treats this disease and helping to turn millions of breast cancer patients into breast cancer survivors. This progress was made with your continued support and together we can reach our vision of a world without breast cancer. Facebook YouTube. October 28, am.
