By Simon Barnes. Call them New Zealand. I believe they even eat and sleep and — being rugby players — break wind. Maybe it worked: under his guidance, England put together their longest-ever winning streak over New Zealand. Nice work, boys. Apart from the mystique, New Zealand teams tend to be very good at rugby. They also have a knack of starting every game in pole position.

The All Blacks defied overwhelming Welsh possession and territory to lead at half-time thanks to two tries by wing Waisake Naholo. Wales scored through Scott Williams and Gareth Davies, but Ioane's second touchdown ended a late fight-back. Warren Gatland's team showed more signs of promise, but were not able to end their year wait for a win over the All Blacks. They simply could not match the cutting edge New Zealand showed whenever they caught a whiff of the home team's tryline. The difference was exemplified late in the game after Davies claimed Wales' second try, as the visitors hit back after Ioane's interception try had silenced a rowdy home crowd.

The wing wonder's offload to Anton Lienert-Brown had to be seen to be believed, through a gap that simply wasn't there. Then minutes later, he read a clumsy pass from Dan Biggar to put the double world champions out of sight. But after two tries from Weisake Naholo, the stage was set for another Kiwi win on Taffside, as they have done in every meeting since Naholo's first came from nothing, Stef Evans missed a tackle just over half way that left Aaron Smith with a step inside, and a sublime pass to Naholo on the right. Evans tried to recover and put Naholo into touch, but that just made All Blacks winger's dive for the corner look all the better, a stunning finish. And so it told as New Zealand's first spell of concerted pressure turned into a series of advantages.
The New Zealand national rugby union team also known as the All Blacks has played 34 matches against Wales , winning 31 of them. The loss was said to be controversial wing Bob Deans claimed to have scored a try that would have brought them level. However, Wales were generally considered the better team with the All Blacks playing particularly poorly in the first half of the game.
