MV Agusta Brutale 800 (2017) : Launch Alert : PowerDrift

The Brutale was MV Agusta's hottest-selling bike this year and now the Italians have released a RR version with a lot more horsepower, as well as upgraded electronics, suspension and lightweight wheels. Get into the gallery and drool over this exquisite piece of high-octane butt jewelry. MV Agusta has been on a wobbly financial footing for well, pretty much as long as I can remember. But the Castiglioni family has always found ways to keep the doors open, and one thing that's remained rock solid is this company's ability to chop out unreasonably desirable motorcycles. MV's Brutale has been its hottest seller this year , accounting for some 35 percent of total sales, and the RR model is now getting a fairly major refresh. Built on the awesome cc triple that has rejuvenated MV's range, the Brutale hit just the right spot it looked almost as horn as the Dragster, but out-handled it because it wasn't packing a fat section rear tire for looks. But luckily, when MV Agusta slaps a RR sticker on a bike, it means more than suspension and brakes and fancy carbon farkles.

Racy good looks and Italian performance have been the hallmarks of the line, and the factory doubled down in with a heavily updated version of its and the even more race-tastic RR. The revisions brought changes from the bones up with a completely reworked frame to carry the improved engine, and a whole passel of electronic features to help you keep it all under control. Riders can expect around horsepower from the base , and even more from the RR, so these new kids on the block definitely uphold the reputation for performance established by earlier incarnations. Read on to find out why. The Meccanica Verghera Agusta has been around as a motorcycle manufacturer since

The company is superb at leveraging its Italian-exotica image, and that is obvious when you look at any MVthey really are unique. Pull up at any random Starbucks and without fail, the Brutale will attract attention. The curves and complementing angles on the bike all work together beautifully; the paint and finishes are premium quality, and the detail touches have clearly had a lot of thought go into them. This is a motorcycle that is not obviously built to a budget, and the end result is distinctly different from anything else in its class. As upright nakeds, the Brutale series of models is, by definition, devoid of plastic fairings, so the details are on show and there to admire; the more you look, the more you see. The blacked out 43mm Marzocchi fork looks beefy and cool, even though the visual effect is ruined by the horrendously huge emissions sticker wrapped around the right leg. I realize we have to have one, but, really!

But, a fully faired motorcycle is hardly the most ideal for our clogged roads and racetrack-starved country. A motorcycle better suited for daily use would be naked. They tend to be less aggressive not just in terms of seating position, but engine character as well.

The MV Agusta Brutale is one of the most radically designed and feisty middleweight motorcycles you can get your hands on, and was updated for the edition with a bulk of changes. Here are a few things you need to know about the MV Agusta Brutale The MV Agusta Brutale is highly distinguishable over other middleweight contenders and is known for its iconic styling penned by Massino Tamburini. For the edition, the styling has evolved on the Brutale for a sharper and tightly sculpted bodywork. The fuel tank is all-new, while the droopy headlamp now gets an encircled LED DRL that is extremely distinctive when viewed head-on. Also new is the tail design with neat, integrated grab rails.

The Brutale has always scared the hell out of me. It has always been a motorcycle that needs to be respected and treated with almost god-like reverence. Because if you didn't, it would chew you up and spit you out. But the bike I had tested was the older motorcycle the first of the generation. And like all things, that too came to an end. But only to give way to the new Brutale. The whole theme of the bike is the same as before.
